1. As English is my second language, this story was not that harder than any other stories that we had to read for this class. However, it was hard to get the point of this story, why the writer wrote this and what is the conclusion that writer wants from this story. Maybe it is because of my weakness of English. However, the flow and the situation of this story is very interesting that captures an audience and keep want them to read it more. Even though we don’t know why the beard pistol man came to the writer’s house and the writer doesn’t give us a lot of information for the audience, but we slowly falling deep into the world.
2. I am currently taking Holocaust class and get to chance to learn about colonies. And I think this story has little connection between the fight of the countries. The threaten characters who offer a story from writer are look like the countries, such as Britain, who try to win the war and establish a colony for them. Writer’s house was a private house just for the writer, but the unknown and uninvited people are gathered into the writer’s private house and try to establish a colony.
3. I would adopt this story into a comic book. The characters in this story are fascinating characters. Beard man with a pistol, Pollster, and Pizza delivery man are unique characters, which want me to draw them into a comic book. And also the repetition situation of knocking door is very interesting. New people join the world of the story with knocking door sign will make the comic more interesting point. I would keep the space of the room in very limited space with sofa where all characters sit down, and I would not choose to draw the writer himself. So the comic viewpoint will be the writer.
